It’s rainy here today. The thunder scared all the cats, and Peaches refused to go out after breakfast. “No way; you’re not getting me out there in that, ” she said, from her hiding place under the table.
I’ve been working on my shawl again today. I stopped a while ago to make dinner and had a slip of the knife. I managed to slice my thumb. I washed it, applied pressure to stop the bleeding temporarily, and slapped some New Skin on it. I hope I’ll be able to knit tonight. It’s a little tender, but I won’t be getting blood on my yarn–I think. Of course, I now smell of clove!
I hope I can knit tomorrow as I’ve been waiting a solid week to see that cycling tape of the Dodge Tour de Georgia, and they’re showing it tomorrow afternoon on OLN TV. I like to knit while I watch those long cycling events.
Magazine Talk
I was looking at the new Knitter’s magazine (Spring, 2005), p. 60, and my eye caught those cutwork pants. Never mind that knitted top! I don’t much care for that color of green, but so many projects in that issue are that green or another. Those pants would be fun to make.
I thought the new INKnitters (Spring, 2005) had a fun project–those pillows with the cup and teapot motifs. Now, the colors would have to be changed for my house, and I think I’d alter the spout on that teapot some, but it was a fun idea. I also liked that purple cardigan with flower–well, I guess I mostly liked the flower. It was another fun idea.
Vogue Knitting (Spring/Summer, 2005) had several interesting projects. That little ruffled top with the eyelets on p. 86 and the colorwork on p. 87 in that capelet caught my eye. I also liked that scarf on the cover. That would be a no-brainer, wouldn’t it? It’s almost an abundance of scarves in that one scarf.
I’ll leave you to your knitting, and I’ll try to do mine. Oh, thumb, don’t fail me now!
