Now, doesn’t that look like a peaceful place to live? Those sheep appear to own the road. I wonder how in the world they keep from getting hit by cars. Surely there is traffic to dodge sometime. I suppose the traffic has to look out for them, not the other way around.
Jeremy and Molly Dailey are staying in Yorkshire, Great Britain, for a while, so they treat Jeremy’s mother, Marcia, with photos now and then. She passed this one on to me and gave me permission to use it. This location, so I’m told by Marcia, is Hutton-Le-Hole. Click on that link to find a 360 degree view of the village. I think the place looks lovely. I hope Jeremy and Molly enjoy their stay in Great Britain, and take lots of photos. Marcia loves getting them.
Stateside
The sun finally came out around here, and it’s nice to see some of it now and then. Maybe now our blueberries will finally ripen. I went out to check on them the other day, and they were still a long way from ready to pick as you can see in this photo.

Our figs are still very green too. They always take a while longer to ripen. Anyway, the rain has stopped for a while.
Lyra
I spent some time last night working on my Lyra again. I’d post a photo, but I don’t think you can tell too much difference in it. I got up to row 129 this morning, so you can tell how slow it’s knitting up. I’m not a fast knitter, and I really become aware of it when I get to these long rows.
When I first got to the section with the flower heads in it, I thought doing those stitches with each pair twisted was very slow. There are 14 pairs. Thankfully, only every other pattern row has those twisted stitches in it. So they aren’t as slow as they were for a while. I’ve done twisted stitches before, but I think maybe because this is done with thread, not yarn, and because there are so many in one clump, it seemed tedious until I’d done a few rounds of it.
Anyway, I’m hanging in there. I will eventually get this finished.
Tour De France
The Tour de France starts on Saturday, and I’m ready to go. I have two knitting projects to finish–this one and the Flirty Ruffles shawl. I ought to be able to get a lot of knitting done while I watch it.
I couldn’t believe Armstrong took a tumble the other day when he was out preparing for the Tour. The story was that his bike tire fell into a crack in the pavement as he rounded a corner. He went over the handlebars and landed on his head. He broke his helmet into two pieces and wound up with a black eye from it. I hope he’s feeling okay when the Tour starts. I’m sure that was a bit of a shock. Sounds like a good reason to wear a helmet to me.
