I hope everyone is having a nice safe new year. I remember waking up a couple of times and hearing firecrackers and such going off. Someone around here enjoyed the excitement. I’m afraid I was too tired to pay much attention to it.
Since the kitties don’t much care for loud racket and didn’t get to celebrate the new year, I decided to give them a little fun today. I decided to brush them. This is always an occasion for great pleasure for Charming. She came hurrying down the cat tree for her turn. Lucky wasn’t sure he wanted Charming in on it, but he sat and waited patiently for his turn until she got brushed. They love the attention and purr loudly through the whole affair.
Then as a treat, I always spread newspapers on the floor and sprinkle catnip on it for them. The paper makes the cleanup a little easier, and they like to rattle the paper as they enjoy their treat. This is how they celebrated.
As you can see, Lucky got into the spirit of the celebration a little faster than Charming did.
So she tasted it a little more. “My goodness, that’s tasty!”
Whoops! She got it all over her face and had to stop for a mini bath.
Now, she’s just zoned out. Catnip is so relaxing. She could care less if it’s in her fur.
Meanwhile, on the other newspaper, Lucky is still feeling energetic.
I think the effects had begun to wear off here. He’s bright-eyed again and less the little wiggly worm.
After indulging, both of them found places to sleep it off. No designated driver needed.
